The first annual Williamsport Marathon, Half Marathon, and Relay are set for Sunday, October 8th!
Registration is now CLOSED for the Williamsport Marathon, Half Marathon, and Relay Road Race, to be held in Lycoming County on Sunday, October 8, 2017.
A portion of the proceeds for this event will be donated to the The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research and Project Bald Eagle.
The races will start at 8 AM in downtown Williamsport on the intersection of 4th and William streets (corner of the Cell Block).
The Marathon is a 26.2 mile course that will lead runners through the streets of Williamsport and Loyalsock and will then take them on a scenic route by way of the riverwalk. The riverwalk will include views of the Susquehanna River, the South Williamsport Park Complex, Montoursville, and Indian Park before returning to Loyalsock and the much awaited finish line.
The Marathon Relay will consist of the same course as the marathon. Each relay team will consist of 4 team members. The legs of the race are approximately 6.6 miles, 6.5 miles, 5.61 miles, and 7.49 miles. The relay points will be located at Indian Park in Montoursville and the southwest side of the Market Street Bridge pedestrian ramp.
The Half Marathon will consist of the first half of the marathon route. Participants will enjoy the riverwalk and the views of the surrounding communities before crossing the finish line outside our title sponsor, First Community Foundation Partnership.
The Williamsport Marathon will serve as a qualifying race for the Boston Marathon in 2019.
First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania (FCFP) is the Title sponsor of the 2017 Williamsport Marathon.
As part of the race weekend, the inaugural Pasta Dinner will be held at the Genetti Hotel & Suites in the Terrace room on October 7th, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 PM!
Runners from 17 different states/countries will be representing the 2017 Williamsport Marathon.
Pennsylvania, New York, Virginia, Colorado, Canada, Connecticut, New Jersey, Ohio, North Carolina, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, and Minnesota.
